I wanted to do something very young and fun for my grandma’s eightieth birthday party. It was going to be a surprise party and I figured that if all the guest were wearing glow necklaces and glow bracelets, then they would not have to hide. They could just stand in the dark and when she walked in, she would see all of their faces just glowing in the dark.
I ordered 100 glow bracelets and 100 glow necklaces, so each guest would have one of each. I even made sure that they put a few on the cake. It looked awesome. I walked my grandmother into the room, which she thought was a dark room for a movie screening. She was very surprised to see people from her childhood that she had not seen since she was a kid.
The party was a complete success with the 100 glow bracelets and glow necklaces; my grandmother commented that she felt like a kid again. That was probably the best feeling in the whole world for me, when she said that.
Every single guest that attended the party wrote on a blanket with glow in the dark ink. My grandmother asked to have that blanket be with her when she passed on. She wanted to have a bit of that night always with her.
