I went to the library to read up on what would be the best choice of replacement windows for my home. In the old days, there were only a few choices, but now it seems to be that there are hundreds of styles to choose from. The prices range from very reasonable to ridiculously expensive too. I know someone who put in twenty thousand dollars worth of windows into their home. I also know someone who only spent about six thousand for their replacement windows and I cannot tell the difference in the two styles at all.

I was hoping that there would be books about this subject and maybe they would compare all the styles side by side. I had been thinking that simple vinyl double hung windows would be the best choice but want a little more information before making up my mind.

Since my old windows are original to the house, I know that almost anything will make it look better and should help with the energy costs that seem to be out of control.
