My friend who is the head of the IT department of this small company is stressing out about the demands of his co-workers about upgrading their existing network.  Most of the computers are outdated and the servers are always conking out due to age.  He was worried because they did not have enough money to totally upgrade the whole system.

Of course, he wanted to use IBM iSeries Servers because he knows that it is the right machine for their needs.  However with the cost involved in purchasing even just one brand new unit it is impossible for him to do that. I suggested that he look at other brands but he does not want because he believes in the brand.

I also suggested that he take a look at used IBM servers for sale.  I know that it sounds off to use second hand units but a lot of companies are already doing it.  I gave him the address of the website that I saw while browsing the Internet and told him to check it out.  He did exactly what I told him and he is now awaiting the shipment of a couple of servers that he initially ordered.  When this shipment is good, he will continue purchasing the next batch of units from them.
