If it was so easy to be successful in life, then everyone would have been rich by now. I know that determination is not the only way to be successful in life. You should also have courage to do the things that you need to do, even if you have to sell diamonds to make it happen. This is the lesson that I learned from Peter, a good friend of mine. His family has been having financial problems that started when his father was involved in a car accident. He was hospitalized for a few weeks and was not able to go to work.
His mom looked for ways to solve their problem and started to sell diamond jewelry. His dad was lucky, he was able to get back to work after his rehabilitation and they slowly recovered. Peter was able to find a good job after graduating and has been promoted several times. I think part of his success was due to the lesson that he experienced from his childhood. There was a saying that states that “good judgment comes from experience”, experience really is the best teacher after all.
